We are, who we choose to be!

Will Smith says ‘we are who we choose to be’. In other words we create where we are. If you think life is stressful, awful or terrible, guess what? It’s quite likely that it is.

If you want to have a different outcome, then you have to change your description of it AND your response to it. Your response? If you think your life is awful, what are YOU going to do about it? You don’t have to let life happen TO you.

What could YOU do today, to change where you are?

Taking Action: What could you do today?

When I am coaching clients, we will arrive at the point where the client is identifying the options they could develop to help them to achieve their goal. However, having a list of options is of little use, if you do not plan to do any thing with them.

So the question I will always ask is ‘Looking at these options, what action could you do today or this week, that would move you towards your goal?

Sometimes the client answers straight away, other times they may hesitate as they think about it. At this point, their fears may start to rise as they think about what they could do. They may say’I don’t know’. My response is usually ‘if you did know, what would you do?’ this often gets the client to think creatively, but usually they overcome their fears and answers do come.

So my question for you is ‘What could you do today, that could move you forwards?’

When you have found your answer(s), write it down and put it up where you can see it.

Then take ACTION! Just DO IT!

Oprah on Believing in Yourself

This short video from Oprah is the reason why I started this blog.

I suffered with low self-belief and it stopped me from living the life that I was meant to have. I made decisions from that place of low self-belief as I did not think any thing else was possible.

Today, i understand how to change my self-belief and the effect of has changed my life and continues to do so. I passed my MBA; I set up my own business as an interim manager and consultant and I’m now a coach! I work with people to realise their own dreams and ambitions.

Self-Belief: What does yours say about you?

I started writing this blog because I have experienced and witnessed how the lack of self-belief has a crippling effect on a person and their life.

I have met many people who believe that they cannot achieve their full potential and are therefore not living their best life.

Change your beliefs and you can change your life. I have met and read about people who decided that their current beliefs did not serve them and they took action to change them. They looked outside of themselves; they read books, received coaching, studied people who had achieved similar things to them, and that was their inspiration to begin.
