When I am coaching clients, we will arrive at the point where the client is identifying the options they could develop to help them to achieve their goal. However, having a list of options is of little use, if you do not plan to do any thing with them.
So the question I will always ask is ‘Looking at these options, what action could you do today or this week, that would move you towards your goal?
Sometimes the client answers straight away, other times they may hesitate as they think about it. At this point, their fears may start to rise as they think about what they could do. They may say’I don’t know’. My response is usually ‘if you did know, what would you do?’ this often gets the client to think creatively, but usually they overcome their fears and answers do come.
So my question for you is ‘What could you do today, that could move you forwards?’
When you have found your answer(s), write it down and put it up where you can see it.
Then take ACTION! Just DO IT!
